It’s always amazing to be able to drive a prototype of a vehicle, especially the one that has been highly anticipated. This time we got our hands on the Porsche Macan GTS prototype and we thought to tell you everything about it.
The electric version of the vehicle will be launched in the UK two years later. The vehicle has been a topic of discussion for quite some time and for over a year, we have received hints from the company officials. Recently we saw some shots of the prototype of this model as well.
A fully electric version doesn’t mean the company will give up on the traditional version of the vehicles. We learn this when we drove a prototype facelifted Macan, which was launched 6 years ago. Many car manufacturers would consider launching an all-new model after 8 years, but Porsche’s approach is different. It decided to not drop the revolutionary approach that it has followed for many years and this is why it’s only releasing a facelifted version of the vehicle. The model will have a refreshed appearance, updated features, and a reworked interior. However, now, there will be fewer vehicles in the line-up.
The company will start taking orders in July and three models will be available for purchase to the customers. There are not many styling changes; the company has changed both the front and rear bumpers, the wheels have been changed as well, and now it’s available in 3 new colors. The company will announce more details after it starts booking the orders.
Just like the exterior, the interior has been tweaked only slightly, but you can expect a more pleasant driving environment. Even though not all of the interior was visible in the prototype and we weren’t allowed to take pictures, we could see some of its features. There is a multifunction steering wheel, a touchscreen, and new digital instruments.
The engine has been reversed as well and now it’s able to produce more power output as well as more torque output. The company wants to offer a better driving experience and a better performance with this new model.
